Amiga Forever Online Edition

The Online Edition of Amiga Forever is our answer to PC users and Amiga enthusiasts who are looking for a quick and easy way to download "Amiga Kickstart ROM" files and run a fully-licensed Amiga emulation. Everything, including the (Win)UAE and (Win)Fellow emulation software, the operating system, and additional Amiga programs, comes preconfigured in a compact archive which is ready to run immediately after the download.

If you are not already familiar with Amiga Forever, the Online Edition is a complete, fast and inexpensive way to have an Amiga running inside your PC. If you have never used an Amiga before, you can now install and use Amiga games, demos and productivity applications on your PC. Or surprise a friend or co-worker, switching on your PC monitor, and showing a full-screen Amiga, indistinguishable from the original.

Online vs. Plus and Premium Editions

The Online Edition of Amiga Forever includes the same emulation and operating system (Workbench 1.3 and 3.X) content as the CD-based Plus Edition.

The downloadable Online Edition, while including an uncompromising productivity and compatibility content, does not include the following items from the Plus Edition CD:

• KX Light boot option

• Gallery

• ROM and operating system files of historical interest (other than 1.3 and 3.X)

• Amiga Explorer

• Personal Paint additional documentation and artwork

Amiga Forever also comes in a physical package, the Premium Edition, which includes both the Plus Edition CD, and two dual-layer video DVDs.

Windows vs. Other Platforms

To keep installation as simple as possible, the Online Edition comes in a dedicated Windows version, which is easier to install and run on Windows systems.

After installation, the ROM and operating system files, including the preinstalled Amiga applications, can be used by other operating systems as well (e.g. by GNU/Linux installed on the same PC).

If you do not have access to a Windows system we recommend that you purchase the Plus Edition.

Installation

To install the Windows version just run the downloaded setup file. If you would like to check the integrity of the file you can right-click it, select Properties, and check the digital signature.

Backup of Online Files

By our own customer support statistics, there is a 50% or higher probability that you may lose either the license key or the download file within three years from your order. This is often due to a hard disk problem.

After purchasing Amiga Forever Online Edition, we therefore strongly recommend to:

• Print the email containing the license key (serial number)
• Burn the downloaded file and registration information to a CD, or otherwise back this data up

Upgrades

If you purchase the Online Edition and later decide that you wish to upgrade to the Plus Edition or the Premium Edition of Amiga Forever, you can purchase an upgrade version at a special price.

Also, please keep in mind that when purchasing the Premium Edition you also receive an instant download link to the installer for Windows (Plus Edition version, i.e. with additional ROM and operating system files). This means that you don't have to buy the Online Edition only because you badly want it in the middle of the night, and then upgrade to the Premium Edition, which may take a few days to get to you.
