A: Errors like "Element not
found" or a "Your software is up to
date" message in spite of a known
application update may indicate the need to
update Software Director. A 0x80072EE2
error is usually caused by antivirus of
firewall software blocking a download.
Amiga Forever and C64 Forever use Cloanto's
Software Director to install updates and
add-ons. Since the initial 2009 release, Software Director itself has
been updated, introducing features
required by newer versions of Amiga Forever
and C64 Forever.
If the installation of an add-on or a check
for updates inside Amiga Forever or C64
Forever fails:
- Open Software Director in the
Windows Control Panel
- Click the "Check Now" button
- Right-click the Software Director
self-update entry, if available, and
select the Install option
- If you intend to install more
updates, go to the Wallet tab of
Software Director, see if these updates
are already listed (from previous
attempts), and delete them before
proceeding to update again
- Close both Amiga Forever and C64
Forever, if installed
- Install
the Amiga Forever (and/or C64 Forever)
software update from within the Software
Director interface (not from inside the
player)
As of Amiga Forever and C64 Forever 2009.0.4.0, this
issue has been resolved (the condition where a
Software Director update is required is now
recognized correctly, whereas this wasn't
the case before).
Error 0x80072EE2 during a download
indicates that the transfer timed out before
completing. This could be caused by a
network failure, or by other programs
running on the computer. The error has been
reported in cases where an AmiKit download
(in Amiga Forever Plus Edition) was blocked by antivirus software such as
Avira Antivir Premium and ESET NOD32. Before
retrying, you may want to temporarily
disable any antivirus or download
accelerator software. If you are running any
personal firewall software, you may need to
grant permission to this application for the
download to continue.
