"Missing export USER32.dll UnregisterDeviceNotification" Error

TOPIC

When launching certain configurations of the Amiga emulation software a "The WinUAE.exe file is linked to the missing export USER32.dll UnregisterDeviceNotification" error is displayed, followed by "A device attached to the system is not functioning".

DISCUSSION

The UnregisterDeviceNotification function is included in Windows 98 and later systems, including Windows 11, but not on earlier versions. On Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 the above error message is displayed when WinUAE.exe tries to use this feature.

The version of WinUAE.exe which had this problem was included in some versions of Amiga Forever 5.0. To solve the problem install the free upgrade to Amiga Forever 5.1, or a newer version.

Amiga Forever 2008 and higher do not support versions of Windows prior to Windows 2000.
